We all have seen (or been to) one of those chain franchise Beauty Salons. There are many of them in convenient locations and they specialize in quick, no appointment hair cuts. Quick, might not be the right word because I have waited for over an hour to have my hair done in a so-called “no appointment necessary” salon. Some are limited as to what services they provide, for example; some don’t do coloring and some do perms, while some do all of the above.
The one thing that they all have in common aside from the claim of low prices, are stylists who spend a lot of time talking to each other rather than paying attention to their customers. They are forever answering their cell phones or running to the front desk to answer the salon phone no matter what condition the customer is in...a head full of perm solution that should have been rinsed off already or a blob of color sitting on a burning scalp that will probably turn out to be some never before heard of color.
On the other hand, a high-end salon usually requires an appointment and you will be treated like royalty on most occasions. The stations are clean and attention is heaped upon you like you were truly the Queen of England. The stylist seems to understand what you want the minute the words leave your mouth even if you have no idea of what you are talking about or the style you desire will be hideous. No fear, this stylist knows how to create anything and everything and if what you are describing is unintelligible or impossible, she will come up with a fantastic alternative.
The prices are MUCH higher than they were in the cut-rite salon but isn’t it worth it...Isn’t it worth the money to have someone so knowledgeable and confidant?
